Oceanview Pull-Up Spot 📍 Maslin Beach –

Start your weekend by parking at the Frank Hamilton Reserve carpark — my favourite quick-access ocean view right from the car.

✨HIDDEN GEM✨ Cliff jumping 📍 Nearby

Pair this itinerary with my Fleurieu Peninsula Hidden Gems guide for a truly off-the-beaten path experience!

Sunset Spot 📍 Port Willunga Caves

Head to the famous sea caves overlooking the old jetty pylons. ☀️ While most visit at low tide, my favourite time is high tide, when the ocean rises super close to the caves. It’s magic. 💧 Prepare to get your feet wet — worth it.

Saturday

Drive-On Beach 📍 Silversands (Low Tide)

Plan the day around this, do the rest of the things either side of low tide. Cruise directly onto the beach for sweeping views. Great morning coffee spot from the car or tailgate.

Clifftop views 📍Sellicks Beach

Check out the clifftop lookout for sweeping coastline views. You’ll find this on google maps under ‘Cactus Canyon Lookout’

Cactus Garden 📍 Sellicks Beach

Continue down the Esplanade Road a little further and you’ll see some cactus on the cliffside of the rocky carpark just past the lookout. Take the off-path detour to wander among cactus plants and gaze into the canyon below.

“Take the staircase down to Sellicks Beach, turn left and walk along the coastline to explore these amazing spots.”

Hidden Swing 📍 Sellicks Beach

Continue down further past the cactus garden and you’ll see a hidden swing before the end of the road. Enjoy an epic swing with scenic views.

Rockpools 📍 Sellicks Beach

After a big swell or storm the sand from the pools gets swept back out to sea, this leaves some rockpools deep enough to take a dip in. This doesn’t happen very often so when it does it is really special!

Sea Arch Rock Formation 📍 Sellicks Beach

Spot the natural sea arch and explore tucked-away caves!

✨HIDDEN GEM✨ Secret Caves 📍Nearby

Pair this itinerary with my Fleurieu Peninsula Hidden Gems guide for a truly off-the-beaten path experience!

Sunset spot 📍 Sellicks Beach

Take in the stunning sunset from atop of this large rock. You’ll find hand holds and foot holds to help you get to the top.

Sunday

Ocean view pull-up spot 📍 Carrickalinga

Start the morning with epic coastal views from this clifftop carpark. You’ll find it by searching Carrickalinga Point Lookout on Google Maps. Watch the waves crash and scan for dolphins — I see them here often

✨HIDDEN GEM Heart-Shaped Rockpool 📍 Nearby

This one’s off the main trail — and not on the map. You’ll find it featured inside my Fleurieu Hidden Gems Guide with exact directions, safety info, and the best time to visit.

Secret Beach 📍 Carrickalinga

Take the rocky trail to the right of the carpark and follow the coastline. Follow one of the paths down to the beach below (I’d reccommend the 4 path) and then scramble over rocks while still following the coastline and you’ll find Secret Beach. One of the most breathtaking places on the Fleurieu!

Secret Beach Lookout from above 📍 Carrickalinga

This is found at the end of the rocky cliff path, so rather than turn off to head down towards Secret Beach, you continue to the end of the path where you’ll find yourself looking down onto the incredible beach that awaits! You can find this location in Google Maps as ‘Carrickalinga Headland’.

Rockpools 📍 Carrickalinga

Check out the beach below the main stairs from the Carrickalinga Point Lookout carpark, explore the rocky shelf. The pools here vary with the tide — some are perfect for a float.

Leafy Seadragon Snorkel or SUP with dolphins 📍 Carrickalinga

Head to the Carrickalinga toilet block which can be found on google maps. If you’re a confident adventurer and have a group with you, head out for a snorkel straight out from the toilet block and you’ll find a reef around 100 metres off shore. This is where I saw my first leafy seadragon! Alternatively, take a paddle up and down the coast, I’ve been greeted with pods of dolphins here more than once.

Golden Hour Lookout 📍 HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout

A quiet spot to sit, watch the golden light hit the cliffs, and reflect before sunset. Beautiful in all weather and often overlooked.

Sunset Spot 📍 Normanville Jetty

Wrap up your weekend with a sunset over one of SA’s tiniest, most peaceful jetties. Bring a warm drink and enjoy the stillness.
